Out of curiosity Indeed'ed recruiter jobs this morning 50 miles from Huntington, NY. Check this out...

TD AMERITRADE is looking for a talented Recruiting Manager for our Technology Division...Requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with candidates/clients at all levels. Why would someone want an untalented Recruiting Manager? Also, it surprises me that anyone would hire a recruiter with excellent communication skills and the ability (notice that ability means potential) to deal with candidates and clients at all levels?

Guidepoint Global is "...currently looking for a Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) Mass Recruiter." Again, "Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to take initiative and build strong productive relationships." Here they are again; some company looking to hire a recruiter who has great communication, interpersonal skills, and can build relationships. Where do they come up with these things???

AEXGroup, a leading broker of transportation services, is seeking a Recruiter of Independent Contractor (IC) drivers...Essential functions include: Identifying and screening potential independent contractor drivers, including presenting business opportunities available to the potential contractors. Really?

Manpower asks "Are you a high achiever? Do you enjoy creating solutions for your clients? And do you want to be accountable for the amount of money you make?" No Dude - my name is Spicolli; can't I set the bar lower?

A. E. Feldman of Great Neck, NY writes in its post for Executive Recruiters, "You will be given actual job assignments..." I know Mitch is saying this isn't a training position but this just sounds weak; he can do better than this - he's a real smart guy and I like his blog.

Facebook wants the recruiter to "Conduct thorough interviews for ideal candidates." Thorough?

Ad nauseum.

How about a little creativity in ads and some words that clearly demonstrate why someone would really want to be a recruiter with your company or client? Is it really necessary to waste your time cutting and pasting into your ad posts the same tired lines that people actually chuckle at when reading? If nothing else, how about using a Thesaurus?
