I've been hard at work back in my workshop, creating training for recruiters who want to use social media to hire candidates. The Social Media Headhunter Series grew out of my frustration with everyone saying that social media was great for recruiting, but few people actually using social media to hire. The result was a series of trainings where i go inside applications and walk recruiters through a step-by-step program to develop and utilize their connections as a source for referrals and information.

Well, the store is now up, and the first trainings are completed.

LinkedIn: Recruiting Companion, is a 90 minute training cd on using LinkedIn to find, connect, and hire candidates inside LinkedIn. The content is built around my experience in building communities, and has in it all the tips and tricks I have used in making placements with social media.

Search Engine Optimization for Recruiters is a 60 minute training that explains the why and how of building an online profile that supports your reputation. People use search engines more than they use email, and in the recruiting world, they do so to track, monitor, and check up on the people contacting them. If your name isn't on the first page, with information that backs up why you're calling, the candidate doesn't trust you. The SEO disc tells you the basics, and then walks you through building a profile strong enough to rank you at the top of the search engines.

Web 2.0 Tools for Recruiters is a 90 minute disc cataloging the best free social media tools available to recruiters. This includes a primer on microblogging with Twitter and Plurk, note taking sites, audio to text sites, and over a dozen other sites that save you time and make it easier to connect with candidates. This is a really cool DVD, and if you're looking for concrete ways to show how social media makes your job easier, this is the disc to have.

Facebook and MySpace seminars will be out December 20th and 30th respectively. They're done - I just have to record and master them.
