I have a curious question.  I was recently doing some work and made the realization that there are a lot of recruiter jobs recently I have seen requiring a Bachelor's degree.

 

I tried digging around some of the professional organizations in our industry and I can't seem to find anything recommending a Bachelor's degree being a prerequisite to being a recruiter and I was curious if anyone has seen any articles or reports or things of that nature from any professional staffing agency suggesting that a BS should be a requirement for recruiters.

 

Now I don't want to start an argument as to whether it "should" or "shouldn't be", just whether there is any logic coming from professional organizations.

The only degree I want to see is a masters in smile and dial.

If you are a top biller I do not think you need a degree....
I would guess a degree requirement is something put in place by folks who:

a) don't understand recruiting, and are hoping to find someone they think might be smart enough to grasp the technical job descriptions or

b) see it as a limiting mechanism so they have a few thousand less resumes to wade through.
