I just watched the
so-called terrifying cell phone footage of a Delta plane crash landing with some landing gear stuck in the
up position. The flight attendant yelled at the passengers the entire time to,
"Stay Down!" I admit..., I would be terrified if this happened to me.
Luckily today, I fly on Southwest and not Delta. I'd much rather have a
rapping flight attendant than a screeching one... I jest, of course - sort of. Today, some of my company's US team will be meeting up with some of our UK team to attend the
HR Technology Conference in Chicago, IL. We,
of course, are very excited to be attending and look forward to the networking, sharing, and learning.
HR Technology has come a long way since the archaic dictaphone and prehistoric fax machine. It is an exciting time to be a part of our industry and I look forward to hearing one more time about how a job board's time has come and how tweeterific twitter really is. ;-)
I am sure there will be innovation in sourcing, ATS applications, and mobile recruiting. I will be there, if you will be there too, come find me; I'd love to meet you and hear the latest. If you aren't going to be there, send me a message about what you'd really like to know about and I will seek out answers to post here in Bonus Track. The lively discussions on RecuitingBlogs are thought-provoking and industry-relevant. Why not provoke relevance?
This isn't an unconference, but it isn't a SHRM, either. It is a display of the latest and greatest tech offered today and a look to the future of HR tech. What could be more exciting? I mean, besides Bristol Palin on Dancing with the Stars?
Did you smell that? That was sarcasm in the morning...
