RIP Steve Jobs

Steven P. Jobs, the Apple Inc. chairman and co-founder who pioneered the personal computer industry and changed the way people think about technology, died Wednesday.

"Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives," Apple said in a statement. "The world is immeasurably better because of Steve."

His family, in a separate statement, said Mr. Jobs "died peacefully today surrounded by his family...We know many of you will mourn with us, and we ask that you respect our privacy during our time of grief."

An amazing man - R.I.P.

“When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: “If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.” It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been “No” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something."

A true pioneer, a keen visionary and an entrepreneur who started his creative journey against all odds, with a buddy, in a garage. Steve Jobs. A class act.

Back on Aug 31st I found a commencement speech, "Do What You Love" Steve Jobs gave in 2005 to Stanford graduates. I posted it on FB as an inspirational speech from a profound individual.

Rest in Peace, indeed.

Steve Jobs did not have a college degree admitting he left college in 1972 confused about what he wanted to do with his life, but was sure he didn't want to waste hard earned money his adoptive parents shelled out for him to attend. I wonder how many recruiters would give Steve Jobs a second look upon reviewing his resume at that time?

Sad, very sad.. like all the other posts here, a man to inspire and yes I do think many professional recruiters might have walked straight past him. Thank god entrepreneurs can just get on and do!

I have been sad yesterday and today ... These words by Steve Jobs has stuck with me he was truly the master of the coolness factor in products and when we speak about being Disruptive he defines the term:

"Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure — these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.
