At last a departure from HBO- tell me I can't be the only recruiter that loves a conflicted sociopath with a mission? I am excited to see what season 6 might hold.

A conflicted sociopath with a mission of an Avenging Angel makes the concept of "Antihero" spin on its head.
Dexter rules and will rule in Seasoning Six.
Loved it...Colin Hanks needs to get some acting chops and Dexter is going to give him an opportunity to fly or become B movie meat.
SIDEBAR: I have a bias here for James Olmos who is an old acquaintance from my East LA days working in the barrios where surviving the significant gang violence there requires a skill set only inner city youth get a free education in survival training or...die trying. Unfortunately many join a blood-in/blood-out relationship within gang and end up in prison, but I digress.
Olmos is a hero of sorts because he escaped it, the Barrio, by succeeding as an athlete, musician and as an actor, stage and screen, in the entertainment business. What's unique about Olmos is that he always comes back to the neighborhood to motivate youngsters to aspire to something better. Since I worked in a minority community based organization I got to see Olmos in action as a mentor, role model and a decent individual.
His acting exposure had a slow start because parts for Hispanic actors were very limited--but he did have the good fortune to appear in roles that did earn him fame and infamy (plus a Golden Globe, an Emmy and a Best Actor nomination for an Academy Award) when you think of: Blade Runner; Zoot Suit; Star Trek; Talent for the Game; Miami Vice; Stand and Deliver; Selena; The Taking of Pelham One Two Three; and Battle Star Galactica to name a few.
Sorry for the sidebar, but seeing his presence in Dexter is certainly good for him and for Dexter, in my view.
Wow- will not offer any spoiler here, but still can't get that last image out of my head from last night's episode.
@Tino - thoughts on the latest theory? They are going Sixth Sense and the professor does not really exist?
@Tim,
The Professor is real enough but I see what you're saying...he's Hank's alter ego with severe religious bent on cleansing Miami first. They are pushing the light-side and the dark-side and the religious wandering of Dexter the dad and Dexter the executioner.
Olmos is playing his role a bit calmly. He needs to sprout some fangs or a tail to liven it up more. Hanks is ideal as the reluctant mule and Deb shows the day-in-the-life of what OJT must look like looking in from the outside.
Besides Dexter, Masuka is my favorite. He’s good and bad on his good days.
The road trip to Nebraska was funny, and the comment that “they leave their doors open in the Midwest” was true when I came out Missouri from California in 1989, but not any longer. Our doors locked up tight ever since the street gangs and the marijuana traffic through the Midwest pickup in the early ‘’90s.
A very interesting scene was when Dexter was communing with the Lord as he was trying to get coffee out of a NesCafe vending machine. I wonder what Nestle paid to get that Ad Placement to also show a coffee cup finally drop with a background of heavenly light and probably coffee too?
@Tino - funny I picked up on the nestle thing as well. I'm looking forward to this Sunday for sure. I will catch up with Waking Dead to comment on that as well.
Love the direction of this season and really look forward to next week's finale. I thought it would be hard for them to top the Trinity Killer Storyline, but this season (and last episode in particular) have been very good.
Dexter is becoming Jason Bourne...Yes--it's getting better and with even more interesting twists and character sidebars.
Dexter RULES.
PS--Colin Hanks is going to have do a lot of Disney to shake this tag and direction. It's like when Henry Fonda did Once Upon a Time in the West...the only badass role I think he ever played.
Great finale Tino. Did you like? Sets up a great start to next season.
Liked it a lot Tim.
Dexter has nine lives with maybe 3-4 of them have been used up.
The Sixth Sense take you mentioned earlier was accurate and it may revisit again in the future.
Dex (Michael C. Hall) is getting buffed BTW...a far cry from his role on Six Feet Under.
Next season will get better unless Hall traded to the Anaheim Angles.
