Solicitor and recruitment specialist Barry Cullen appointed by Cramer Pelmont LLP

London solicitors, Cramer Pelmont LLP, have appointed solicitor and recruitment specialist Barry Cullen as a Partner to head up Recruitment & Resourcing Sector services from their Oxford Circus office.

With over 12 years experience of the recruitment industry, both as recruiter and trusted advisor; Barry focuses his in-depth understanding of the industry, its key players and the pressures affecting them, to increase profitability and maximise business value as part of an exit strategy on behalf of his recruitment industry clients.

Barry began his career as a resourcer with Sthree company, Huxley Associates, in the late ‘90s before being approached by a pair of senior managers to join their new London based venture from where he subsequently recruited for senior IT positions into financial institutions for three and a half years. Turning to the law, Barry established, operated and subsequently sold, a niche legal recruitment agency while retraining to become a solicitor specialising in advising businesses within the recruitment industry.

“After 12 years as part of the recruitment industry, I am delighted to join Cramer Pelmont LLP, as it enters its 36th year and am excited about having the opportunity to lead its operations within the Recruitment & Resourcing Sector.

For too long lawyers working with recruiters have set a doom and gloom agenda and seen the industry as a cash cow, rather than showing recruiters where the opportunities arise to maximise profits and increase the value of their business; through relevant advice, focused on how to do more business, not just listing the risks in any given circumstance.

Recruiters should be insisting their lawyers are not just a cost drain, particularly in a maturing marketplace with ever increasing pressure being exerted on agency margins. Whether during an acquisition/sale, or in relation to any of the day to day legal issues faced by the modern agency; a true specialist solicitor ought to be able to show where they are adding value. If they can’t, agencies might be better advised to buy their legal services off the shelf.”

Further information on the 13 partner-strong full service firm, which focuses on corporate, commercial and litigation matters from its Cavendish Square office, on behalf of both listed and both large and smaller SME clients, is available from its website www.cramerpelmont.co.uk and a full profile of Barry Cullen is available at http://uk.linkedin.com/in/barrycullen.

Congrats Barry - best of luck to you in the new role

Thanks Tim, hitting the ground running over this side of the water; with a guest speaker spot at OnRec 2012 on 28 March among other fun things. Is it right to call work fun?

Thanks to Amber for the like too!
