Hey,

I'm a corporate recruiter for a privately held, 650 person, company in the defense space. I'm based out of Syracuse, NY and I need to staff upwards of 100 engineering positions. I'm very new to recruitingblogs.com. What are some pointers or tricks of the trade to getting started?

If you need help or assistance with staffing 100 engineers? That is Fantastic! There are so many companies laying off, or downsizing ore moving departments oversees, this is nice to see!

Key to success: The job descriptions are written in a way that is clear, precise and the responsibilities are listed out to what the incumbant will be responsible for. Just having that layed out is the key to receiving a strong selection of qualified candidates.

Another tidbit, is what values does the employer offer to it's employees, including the benefits. Share the cultural and describe some of the expectations of the cultural, such as dress, hours, community inolvement. Why does your company have to offer to make it successful?

As a recruiter, Engineering is one of my speciality areas! Would you consider working with a boutique staffing agency?

Yes, trying to hire upwards of 100 Engineers is definately a good problem to have. esp in this market.

The good news is my company does a very good job of clearly outlining the specific job requirements and we have very competitive benefits! We offer casual dress, flexible hours (including half days on Fridays in the summer), on-site gym and dining center, tuition re-imbursement, standard medical, dental, vision, as well as a matching 401K.

It has been difficult to target engineers with the exact industry specific, radar experience that we are looking for, and depending where the candidate lives, Syracuse, NY can be a tougher sell.

I'd be happy to hear more about your boutique firm. You mentioned that engineering is your specialty, where are you based out of?
