I've been thinking about my networks recently and wondering about the effectiveness of being involved on a day-to-day basis. Do you think it's important to the success of a network that the network owner/administrator be involved in the network's day-to-day workings/discussions, etc.?
Thanks for your input.

Depends upon the network leader - I think the better question is should they be obsessive like you, awakening at 3 AM to write a posts based upon the 87 emails that came in overnight or should they be monitors like me in ERE's NYC group where as long as there's no killing taking place, I let pretty much everything go?

Love you, Mo!
Hmmmm... great question:

On the one "hand".... the community creator (as they are called in Ning speak) can make new members feel warm and invited to the group.

On the other "hand".... the psychology of the group can become dependent on the creator's presence.

Tough call. Where's the "sweet spot"?

I think Slouch works really hard at striking that balance here. But, it's probably analogous to a long term study; We will not know the outcome for a number of years but we can interpret the data so far.

Thanks for the thought provoking question, Maureen. I'll be wrestling with this one for the foreseeable future.

Well, should they (be obsessive)? Luv u too!
Funny! I like the multi-colored underlines. LOL

Rose are red,
Violets are blue.
I'm schizophrenic,
And so am I...
Trolling for comments...
I think it's important to be aware of what is going on. I am constantly banning people for spam - count is almost 50 people so far. I think it's important that the network look and feel like it is something that is taken seriously by the network administrator. In terms of content contribution. Personally, I would like to contribute more but I tend to add and change things here rather than write content though I want to write more content. what do you think Maureen?
I wish you would write more content - I would LOVE to see your thoughts on biz dev and entrepreneurship. I admire you.
The question of "...the effectiveness of being involved on a day-to-day basis" is a critically important issue which I fully intend to address either tomorrow or the day after.
