The following was sent as a message to the group. So tell me, what do you think?

Friends and Colleagues,

Happy New Year to you all.

With a new year comes a new idea on how to facilitate interaction within this group. We currently have 155 members and I think the following gets us introduced to each other and incorporate new folks as they join:

-Starting next Monday, January 7th, I am going to send a group message every day for the next 16 days.
-Each message will have 10 members contact information, name/email/LinkedIn URL that we can use to send invitations.
-I will start a spread sheet during this time and put the same information there.
-As new members join the group, they will be added to the spread sheet and receive it.
-As new members join the group, or maybe once a week, I will send a group message with their contact information.

If you do not want to have your information shared please “opt out” by sending me an email, paul@mnheadhunter.com, and put “RecruitingBlogs.com opt out” in the subject line. You can remain in the group and receive the spread sheet and group messages. I understand some folks would rather invite than being invited or not have their email address shared.

A few things to note that should make this work better:
-This is not meant to be a call or email spam list but to be used as a networking tool with our colleagues. Anyone violating this will be publicly sanctioned.
-If one chooses not to accept an invitation, do not click “I don’t know” on LinkedIn and penalize the sender.
-When sending an invitation in the subject line put “RecruitingBlogs.com Member” to increase the odds of it being accepted.

I will post this on the “Recruiters On LinkedIn” forum page. All thoughts, comments, and suggestions are welcome.
