Video conference for interviews
To All,

I am looking to get some information on best practices of video conferencing usage by recruiters. With the current state of the economy we are trying to cut down on T&E and video conferencing candidates has been a good solution.

Dose anyone have experience with this? If so how do you use it for interviews?

Hi Scott,

I would be happy to have a brief discussion about your options - of which there are many! There are free solutions like Skype, quarter million dollar solutions like Cisco's Telepresence, and everything in between.

I run a company called Vipe (www.vipepower.com) that has helped F500 level organizations streamline their hiring by providing a solution focused on the best practices of video in hiring.

I respect the goal of providing information on RBC and would be happy to have an informational discussion about all the options out there - rather than simply force a sell on you.

Send me a message through RBC and we can schedule a call.

Hey Scott,

Skype has worked really well for me for a couple of years now... helped me hire confidently overseas and interstate with out me having to get on a plane too often.

That said, Skype is a free option, and occaisionally we have a few issues with it, but you get what you pay for, so as long as you are understanding of that, it really is a fine solution. All for the cost of a webcam :)

It beats a phone interview as there is some virtual physical interaction

cheers

Dan
