DFW Area Recruiters Group

Hello!
I organize a local recruiter group, called DFW Area Recruiter over on Meetup.com. The main purpose is social. I personally get a lot out of occasionally socializing with those that "get" what it is I do all day. Of course, if recruiters/sourcers/HR are able to work together through networking that is icing on the cake.

We have a message board over there. Not very busy (as most Meetup.com boards are not). I really like the layout of RecruitingBlogs.com, and can see how many of our group could benefit from it. I will encourage the members over there that haven't heard of this site to check it out soon. There are a lot of great people in the DFW area, and I would love fo you all to get to know them virtually.

I would interested in attending but I have a commitment. Is this a regular event you are planning or is it just a one time thing. When will the next meeting be?

We try to plan something at least once a month. We have had 2 this month, and I just scheduled one for next week.
Right now I am using Meetup.com to manage the invites and rsvps, etc. You have to join, and then the member ship is approved - usually a few minutes after I receive the email.

The reason we do it this way is because early on we were getting spammed by MLMers, and had a few interesting characters show up to the early meetings.
