Rayanne,

There are 2 distinct parts to my background: last 9years in Sales and Management, first 8 years are in Operations and Management which leaves me with lots of avenues to explore.

I have been a hunter working in the employment industry for 9+yrs. 6+Yrs at 100% commission. And never making less than $100K since 1998.

I have been a partner/owner of our recruiting firm where we brought our annual revenue from $0 to $800k within 5 years. I have brought in several large accounts and have never had less than 35+ placements a year 2004-2008. This is all selling at national level and on 100% commission, while training, coaching and hiring 9 others over the last 6 years.

In 2002/2003, I was National Sales Rep for Careerbuilder out of Irvine handling F500 accounts selling at “C” level.

In 2000/2002, I was a territory sales rep for Adecco in San Diego and promoted to an Area Manager of OC where I managed a team of 16 Sales Executives including: 1 Branch Manager, 4 Outside Territory Account Managers, 1 Internal Direct Recruiter, 3 Onsite Managers, and 7 Staff recruiters. I sold payrolling and PEO services for Adecco as well.

From 1992-2000, I worked for Macys as a Store Manager 1997-2000, Regional Manager of Home 1995-1997, Area Sales Manager 1992-1995, Asst Buyer 1992.
I am VERY flexible and well connected in the retail world. Store or Buying Line, District or Regional, Ops, Logistics, Facilities, Supply Chain, HR, Recruiting. Big Box, Dept Store, Boutique, Corporate.

Tell me if you hear about opportunities in Orange County and San Diego, CA. Or who you might know that I can connect with?

Thanks
Rene
Yes, I started my own firm at 33. Yes, we have hired 9 over the last 6 years. Yes, I have brought in accounts that have billed over a million dollars with us…but now…

I am letting my partners run the firm. I am taking on a different more silent role to allow me to look into opportunities with a F500-1000 firm. I want to be a CEO/EVP before I retire.

Most EVP/CEO’s come from Sales, Sales Management, or Operations.

Where I would choose to work would be much like where I would buy stock. Right now commodity products and services is where I am targeting my search. Companies involved in corn, soy, oil, natural gas, gold, silver, or services that are less volatile or "recession" proof....like payrolling, out sourced services related to tax, law, medical, healthcare, energy, education and healthcare..etc etc etc.

Also, maybe this is short-sited but, I am really targeting F500-F1000 companies where I too can add value to my core competencies and expertise while adding value to that organization.

I have 11+ years at F500 firms. What has hurt me the most, even though I have made a TON of money, is having started/run my own firm these last 6 years. Corporations I am applying to have a difficult time normalizing my performance data. I need to stay on a path where I can add normalized quantifiable performance data to become an officer in a Corporation in the next 25 years.

Simply, sending resumes directly to companies via Job Boards, the Company Website, or Niche Recruiters is not the most productive approach. There is no relationship built and the "right to do business" is never established. One cannot make a connection through anonymity.

At some point, time has to be invested in meeting someone.

It is the same in all industries where goods are purchased and sold.

After all, how many houses or cars would you expect to successfully sell or buy soley from a picture and stats on the web without knowing anything about the buyer or seller?

Blogs and Social Networking is one step better….I hope, as it is time consuming…to making that connection.

Rene
I will! Thanks for the tip!
