The Recruiting Animal's Morning After Show

On Wednesdays he barks, on Thursday he bites!

We have a programming change today because this week we have something "Extra-Extra!"

Making one of his very rare broadcast appearances, industry icon and internet ol' timer John Sumser will be sitting down with the Recruiting Animal to talk about, well, its hush-hush so you'll have to tune in. Bearing in mind that Friday is John Sumser's regular slot we have decided to move the radio to show to tomorrow.

Enraged at the snub of having his show moved to Friday just to please Papa [and not quite understanding how Sumser's union works] the Recruiting Animal has refused to post details of the show. At the time of this writing Jason Davis is tranquilizing the beast. Once he has him firmly under control he will lift the details from the Animal's 'person' and send them on for posting here.

So, now the question is: Do you want to be Animalized? Can you go toe-to-toe with the Recruitosphere's rabid radioshow host? If you do -- because your cause, product or message is worthy enough -- drop me a line and we'll arrange to have someone stop by to do the physical.

Oh, and before you go off thinking "That Animal-cat is a domesticated fluff-ball," catch some snippets here...

In every sense of the term, stay posted: Details to follow!

IMPORTANT UPDATE!

The Recruiting Animal relents.

Here are the coordinates for tomorrow's 12:30PM ET show. DON'T miss...

That cat has a nice hat - is that a raspberry beret? Man, I love this industry.
Anywhere you can pull off a hat like that, that's where I wanna be :) Some say the same about us bald freaks. :) The difference is that Stone Cold Steve Austin was bald too, and if you ask me, Andre The Giant honestly should have been. Now, before you shut my comment down, remember that even your forefather - George Steel (the original "Animal"), serves as inspiration to us all. Man, I would have loved the chance to lay him out with a flying dropkick - now that's what I call experiential recruitment. Here he is at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJt15zgmd4I. If you don't know who he is, I might say "it wasn't time yet" - he rolls in at about the 0:40 mark. Drink a Red Bull before you watch and I gotta tell ya - you'll be ready to take on the neighbor.

Crap, you're not the Animal! Ok, now I'm ready to tear apart a belt buckle . . . jeez.

Not only only am I not the Animal but nor is the guy in the hat. That's john Sumser. The Animal looks like a dummy.

Some may say that, in essence, the Animal is a dummy. Now, I didn't say that . . . but some would. :) As far as Mr. Sumser, we've never met . . . but you gotta have balls to put that hat on in my neighborhood . . . so I have 'much respec' for him :)

A marketing mind may argue that the hat, in an idiosyncratic kind of way . . . is an extension of the wearer. So much so, that without the hat, a level of identity is forfeited. Scientologists may even step in and say that the hat creates the branding on a B2B basis, but they're not very business minded people. Now, I'm not a Freud fan, but I believe there may be studies on hats out there. In a recent Economist, there was an article titled something along the lines of, "What A Bosses Look Tells Us About Them" . . . but what about a hat? If I wear a Cryp-style bandana, would people remember me more? :) What about if I infiltrated the stage and started doing the Cryp-walk? What is this, you don't know? Here's a tutorial - try and keep up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoTpZmOLmaw

Interesting observation, Joshua. John's company is called Two Color Hat. What do you make of that?
Comment by Joshua Letourneau on April 5, 2008 at 10:28am
Wow, we're getting deep here. Now, I must say that I am, by no means, qualified to psychoanalyze (although I have personally been through deep psychoanalysis . . . which was worthless by the way as I am a large part Irish, a group Freud stated to be "impervious to psychoanalysis.") So if John is Irish, then we may forever live in a quandry. That being put aside, from a B2B standpoint (note that I haven't see the site yet), I imagine "Two Color" could indicate not simply a right or left brain focus . . . and perhaps the colors subconsciously note both sides of the brain . . . or it could simply be that two color hats are more dynamic than one.
I'll tell you - I think we need to delineate what two colors are utilized before delving further.
