Do you know the secret to opening doors as a third party recruiter?

I keep hearing recruitment trainers telling us desk jockeys how to overcome objections with our clients and potential clients. I also hear solid techniques around best practice when trying to nurture client relationships - understanding and developing a marketing plan/program is great.

But do you know the most effective way to open those client doors and develop quality business relationships for the long term? Would you like to?

Im… Continue

Go the extra mile for your candidates!

Why is it that the most recruiters focus most of their attention on the need of their clients and give little time to the desires of the candidate? I know that the majority are taught how to take a detailed job order which will enable them to match a candidate’s skills to a vacancy and the better recruiters are competent in understanding the potential career opportunity available. Then, in my opinion, many recruiters lose the plot…. they go out of their way to sell the job vacancy to potential… Continue

In the current economic climate are recruiters putting their career on hold? or will there always be those who look to climb their career ladder?

Much like the housing market, if you are able to invest in assets now a recruitment business will no doubt reap substantial rewards as the economic situation improves. It is certain that there is a large number of recruiters available but the question remains as to whether or not an employer could be 'buying' a toxic debt if hasty decisions are made. Some properties are never going to make economic sense due to the cost of… Continue

What kind of career is recruitment for heavens sake! Anyone can do it..

Is it me or is the world mad? How many untrained recruiters does it take to change a light bulb..... too many to count, they just haven't a clue! Trouble is, they don't even know it...

Its getting to that time of the year when I like to review my experiences in the world of recruitment. Thankfully Im blessed to have a highly trained group of professional recruiters around me but I have to say that my contact with some in the industry… Continue

Hey Gavin, Just come accross you as you are very local to me, I have just read some of your discussions, I was wondering one of them said, 'Do you want a big Biller Mentor?'.. If that is a queston, I would love for somebody to guide me through my first year.

I would appreciate any feedback from you

Well I thought a direct and focused approach to "obtaining" the tickets to Jamaica would be the route. My mum always said "if you don't ask, you dont get". So I guess you need me to sit by the phone on Monday to wait for the call...... ;-O

you mean use your video to announce the winner? I didn't even think of that. I did find the video funny in a good way of course. I have a plan for announcing the winner on Monday morning

Hi Gavin, and thanks for your vote of confidence! I'd love to join the Big Billers group, although I'm no longer recruiting full time these days so my credibility may be fairly low in that particular group :)) .

Regarding your other question, let me mull on it a bit before answering; I have some thoughts about why this seems to be working well here on RBC, and they may be helpful to your own planning process. I'll send you a message with my comments and suggestions.

cheers,
Claudia
