Being in and around the franchising industry some some time (!) and understanding the key benefits of the franchisee/franchisor relationship from first hand, doesn't necessarily put me in the best position to get an understanding of what other people are now thinking. I mean those who have never wanted to, might think about, or have very recently taken the plunge into franchising.

What is the common perception of the franchising industry?
