I guess long are the days when you would come across a company directory of a company you wanted to recruit from and get really excited about it. Or, finding a place on the net with a detailed list of people who attended a conference full of people you knew you could place and getting really excited about it.

It's because that data is everywhere now and maybe as a result, not enough time is dedicated to sitting back, closing your eyes and saying, I am 100k richer because of this find. I think LinkedIn stole some of that closed eye recruiter euphoria.

Maybe with LinkedIn's new recruiting tool, I found as a result of a post from Kristen Durkin on twitter, LinkedIN is trying to give back a little excitement to those who will pay. After all, it is very valuable information. I am sure though, people will find a way around it.

I got a call about this last week from Linked In. I am sure you are right though.
"I think LinkedIn stole some of that closed eye recruiter euphoria."

I think not, unless one was dopey to start with.

This "new" tool reminds me of Microsoft's new OS development efforts that has produced a re-branded Vista with a few more bells and whistles and called it Windows 7. Have you seen the Win7 commercials and the amazed new users? The same can be said for recruiters who fall for this new coat of paint at a higher price.

Something better will come along - it always does and we'll find it.
As in opiated..."closed eye recruiter euphoria"

Awww..., you mean recruiters might actually have to work? relying on their own resources? or using sourcing experts? I know a few...

You need a guy?
Have a guy?

I have a great resource, call me....
Jason,

Glad you found use out of my tweet. I'm with you... recruiters will find a way around it and if they don't their researchers will!
