Comment by Stewart Roberts on September 14, 2010 at 3:30am: The cost of opening your own agency can be fairly cheap as all you really require is a phone, email and a number of clients and candidates to place. Office space, websites, business cards can come later as the main issue is to do the business.

TBOS helps new agencies start up and run by taking all the paperwork away. We help form the company, register it with the Inland Revenue, arrange a business bank account, arrange invoice finance and aid with contracts. The full setup cost of £650+VAT but you get £500 back once you have 5 contractors working.

We then help with all of the back office to run a contract recruitment agency from timesheet processing, invoicing, payroll, bookkeeping, VAT right through to final accounts.

Ths costs are scaleable depending on the number of contractors working and are based on a set per contractor per week fee instead of a percentage of turnover. The cost per week (based on number of contractors working within a month) are:-

1 Contractor £35.00 per week
2-5 Contractors £25.00 per week
6-20 Contractors £20.00 per week
20+ Contractors £15.00 per week

There are also added costs for running staff payroll and supplier bookkeeping services but overall you don't have to worry about any aspect of your back office allowing you to do what you do best... sell!
