How to increase your LinkedIn Connections

In a down economy, it is of the utmost importance to expand your network. The best way to find a job or get new business or through those that you know.





1) Include your e-mail address in your profile after your last name (this makes it easier to add you)

A shortcut to adding Tiny URL

Promoting what you need with Twitter + Facebook + Tiny URL

It took me a while to understand the point of Twitter but at the Recruiting Road Show I saw the light.



You can search them outside of your network and outside of your network can search yours.

You can also add a URL of what you want to promote, shorten it with Tiny URL and make it appear in both your Facebook and Twitter Status.

The Types of sourcing

(this is a response to a post on Sourcers unleashed on the types of sourcing...)



The types of sourcing that I do is a mix of online (passive and active), phone and networking.



The online sourcing can be broken down further into targeting active candidates/those that respond (ie low hanging fruit) through various job boards and getting responses from general and niche job boards. Getting your resume found

I wrote this following entry on my website to encourage Job Seekers to post their resume on a home page
