Fridays: Lost and (hope to be) Soon Forgotten

Sunday night you gear up for Monday. Packed the computer - check. Car keys are in place - check. Employee Badge in purse - check. We plan and schedule the most important meetings beginning of the week so we can then plan on spending the latter part of the week "catching up".

How long can you last?

In one position I would jingle my car keys at about 7:00 p.m. letting my manager know I was finally leaving after working for twelve hours. At another company I would see people sitting at their desk playing on the internet to look like they were working - staying as long as they could for political reasons. Looking for a new job has brought me to the deepest and darkest trenches I never even knew existed on the internet. I've been to places I wouldn't even dare bring you. I remember at my first recruiting position how scared I was to pick up the phone to talk to someone.
