During this holiday season please remember that friends do not let friends get drunk and sing Christmas Karaoke.

For some smiles let's play you know you are a recruiter if...

You know you are a recruiter if you go to a party, meet a new person ,when they tell you what they do for a living you ask them how long they have been there.  If it's less than a year you immediately think..not recruitable yet, then ask them how long they worked for the commpany they were with previously.

You know you are a recruiter if someone tells you their brother in law does something with computers and you spend the next twenty minutes asking them if he ever mentioned anything about java j2EE, apache, rational rose and forty other buzzwords they never heard of and you write the brother in laws name on a cocktail napkin but can't remeber the guys name you were talking to.

You know you are a recruiter if you are introduced to someone who is an executive at a company you have been trying to work with for two years  and you take party chit chat to the level of stalking and keep arranging to head to the bar everytime the guy goes for a drink.

You know you are a recruiter if you are calling potential clients to find out when the Xmas party is so you can figure out a way to crash it or at least hang out in the lobby of the hotel where it's being held.

Any one care to add some contributions that come to mind?

@Bill, God that is funny and so true.  I caught myself using a "Ben Franklin Balance Sheet" on an 8 year old last week.

@Amy that is hilarious.  You know you are a recruiter if your kid describes you as a pimp and you know she's right.  :)

Best recruiter I ever hired was this woman who soaked up all the training like sponge.  She was a dynamo.  But she was having a tough time with her relationships with men.  After a few drinks of talking it over , i said "E, you just can't 'Tony Byrne' your dates!"

You know you are a recruiter if you beat your candidates to death about being on time for interviews but your significant other is threatening to blow up the camp because you have been late getting home for two months because you are either on a close or trying to confirm an interview before you leave the office.

You know you are a recruiter if the most common phrase in your vocabulary is, "What the hell were you thinking" but you never say it out loud.

You know you are a recruiter when you hear yourself say a 2 hour commute is "no big deal" as you are speaking from your kitchen in your sweatpants

You know you're a recruiter when your phone rings in front of your family and everyone freezes in place and even the 6 year old shuts up because they know that is "mommy's work time"

You know you are a recruiter if your internet goes down, you go into a blind panic because you have interviews to confirm and your secretary looks at you and says. "You could call them you know".  You think, (bitch) and pick up the phone.

You know you are a recruiter if a hiring manager calls you at 5:00 and lists a job for a purple squirrel, your life passes before your eyes but you say, "No problem, i'm on it", you cancel your dentist appointment, dinner with friends and dash out for a sack of fritos and fire the computer back up.

You know you are a recruiter if you hear, "please work through Buffy the internal recruiter and submit resumes through the ATS" and you start thinking of ways to offer Buffy a one way ticket to Russia for the winter.

You know you are a recruiter when you start using the STAR method when picking up girls at the bar... "Tell me about a time...."
