As Easter holidays approach, I wanted to talk about some issues that occur to me at this particular time: change of seasons ( summer to Autumn in my part of the world) means its time to take a pause and reflect, consolidate and innovate in my recruiting business.

Firstly, I will be doing some Easter marketing - small Easter gifts for the loyal clients who give us good, regular business and are the "bread and butter" clients of the company. I prefer small gifts because no one should feel obliged to give ( client or company) and this is just a " thank you and remember us" token.

Also, its  a good time to send out " Happy Easter" emails to our clients and candidates with a reminder of our services.

Secondly, I will review the quarters performance and evaluate strengths and weaknesses. New business development is always a weakness and there can never be enough done in this department, I feel. New business development takes time to turn new relationships into profit but it is challenging, stimulating and prevents the business (and the owner) from getting into a rut.

Thirdly, I will look at innovation: where can processes improve by doing things differently? Software upgrade? Staff change? New ways to improve any of the ways we communicate- increase automation?  Value added service we can offer using latest technology?

And, after all this, I will take a short but well needed Easter break, eat too much chocolate and then be ready to carry on.

Happy Easter!
