Virtual Rainmakers and Virtual Sourcers for Lead Gen.... Ideas & Comments?

Hi - I had a great convo with Craig Silverman [Hireability] about this last week. I'd like to get others' feedback too:

I see many ads for sourcing, virtual recruiting, researchers, etc... I'd love to start a following of Virtual Business Development people and have Sourcers that Research Leads and Clients [companies & decision makers] over and above sourcing new candidates.

How would you build a strong, national, virtual team of business developers / researchers / sourcers? How would you incentivize them and manage them?

That's what we're doing here at Omnikron. Our recruiting engine seems to be really well-oiled - so now we are looking for self-starting sales folks to help us virtualize sales.
