Big data is a big deal and understanding what it means should come without a 100 page disclaimer and a masters course in statistics. But our HR teams aren't typically constructed with the statistical chops to understand the sum and influence of those numbers on each other. Which makes sense considering that up to this point, HR has managed transactional numbers rather than getting their "seat at the table" with strategic data that influence across the board.
With or without the skills, HR is still the hub of so many big data points that are critical to making better decisions in every department of your organization. But what do recruiters and HR pro's do with all of it now?
This week, I hosted an informal, live Blab.im with Jackye Clayton, Editor of RecruitingTools.com to have an informal discussion about the good and bad of big data.
We covered:
Big data in the news
Data for good
Data for evil
What recruiters and HR pro's need to know about big data
