Combining the tools that works to work better!!!

Combining the tools that works to work better!!!

There are a lot of tools out there that can help you source. Recruiters as a whole are good at using them individually, however they rarely look at combining these tools. Today I am going to explain how combining these tools can do even more. We are going to target Github as the source of our candidates. We are going to use a great tool called Sourcing Lab to create and run a search in Github.

You then open the results and get the below.

So as you can see a lot of these results have email addresses. So now what? Well now you use another tool called Data Scraper/Data Miner to pull this info into a nice spread sheet that can be put into a CRM/ATS. Below you see the results.

As you can see you get your results, and mostly email addresses you already know they are all developers because Github is a coding site. And if you click the Download button you will get these results in a nice CSV.

We're not done though. Let's say before downloading you want to know more about these candidates. Well simply highlight the name, and use the Linkedin Search tool (see below)

Once you get to Linkedin you know this person lives in Seattle as that was your search criteria and The results are below.

Now of course, how do you know it’s the right person. Well once in Linkedin you use Context Scout and you notice a link to a Github profile. (see below)

If you click the github link and you will be taken to their Github profile which will be an exact match to the linkedin profile.

There you have it not only several tools, but how to use these tools together to follow the bread crumbs to find everything you need about a candidate.

Knowing how to utilize recruiting tools and technologies can be your greatest competitive advantage in the market. There's actually a new tool called ENGAGE that aggregates candidate data from all over the web to provide a comprehensive view of a candidate, including contact information, work history, social profiles, etc. It even allows you to access some of the data sources you mentioned (like GitHub, Stackoverflow, etc.) right from inside the platform!
