Let's talk a moment about Twitter - the infectious micro-blogging service that has taken the internet by storm. If you've managed to get this far and be completely in the dark as to what exactly Twitter is I'll simply point you here, here and here. Today's article isn't about breaking down the basics of the 140 character heavy hitter. It's more about how some recruiters are taking hold of twitter and shaking it for as much as it's worth... in the recruiting realm, that is.

Given Twitter's growth over the last year it would be crazy for us not to at least consider it as a viable channel for recruiting or networking. The thing I love the most about Twitter is that it's an ongoing conversation - it's living dialogue. I'm personally using Twitter as both a networking and a recruiting tool. And thus far I'd say it's fairly successful as both. Besides, if you think that you can argue over the value of a resource that is built on people and personal interests and has grown over 752% in the last calendar year... well, you're simply wrong.
