As you can imagine the start of Sourcecon is always huge. This year the start of Fall Sourcecon was the Happy Hour. This is a great opportunity to meet and great everyone. To discuss sourcing, what sessions you want or should attend and just kick things off. Over the next weeks I will be going over all the sessions, Keynotes and more. Providing a synapsis of what went on.
To start it off at Sourcecon we always have the state of sourcing. Usually this is just the person in charge of Sourcecon telling us the results of the “state of Sourcing” Survey. This year They did that but went a step further and had a panel discussion. They spoke about the increase of 22% from last Sourcecon in attendance and 70% increase in sponsors. The information presented from the survey was done is a different way than normal. Personas were used. The results were the avg recruiter makes about 52k, Fulltime corporate recruiter, about 3-4 years experience, lives in large metro area. Avg Recruiter does at least 20 minutes of research before starting actual sourcing. She likes Indeed, Social channels like Facebook and twitter.
