Many companies out there are still trying to figure out how to best leverage the power of social media for their marketing efforts and recruiting and staffing firms are no different. Lots of firms have set up a presence on social media platforms such as Twitter and LinkedIn to connect with a larger audience and publicize their job posts but are still trying to find their footing.

I’ve found that the big challenge these firms are facing is that they’re unsure of how to manage the process of getting the job opportunities posted to the various social media platforms after the recruiters enter the job details into their recruiting software. Manually creating a Tweet or LinkedIn update every time a job posting comes in can be a time- consuming administrative task.

The good news is that there’s a way to automatically have your jobs postings pushed to your various social networks if your recruiting software can generate an RSS feed of the new jobs you’ve added.  All you need to do is set up a Hootsuite account and link your social networks to Hootsuite. You can then enter the URL of the RSS feed generated by your recruiting software into Hootsuite’s RSS feed feature and any new job that’s added to your database, will automatically be pushed to your accounts on the various social platforms. This one time set up also provides you with the ability to set an interval period for Hootsuite to check your feed for new posts and set the maximum number of posts you’d like to push out at one time.

The robust features that have been included in social media dashboards, like Hootsuite can cut down on the amount of administrative work involved in managing your social media presence. I rely heavily on Hootsuite in both my professional and personal life to help manage the social networks that I participate in and highly recommend it.
