Assembla is a web-based version control and source code management SaaS provider for enterprise that was founded in 2005.It can also be a great place to source. However most recruiters don’t think to source there because they are not sure how. Simply reach into your bag of tricks and pull out an old tried and true tool, a simple xray search with some extras, and a whole lot of website searching
So to source within Assembla you simply need to use a skill known as xraying, like the one below.
site:*.assembla.com/* security
Now the key here is too look for the blogs which means if you want you can use
site:blog.assembla.com/* security
The reason I used the first one in this example is because sometimes there are other nuggets available beyond the blogs.
If you run the strings above in google you will get the results below.
Now of course this is generic so simply add what you are searching for to the string.
Now once you open up the url you will see a blog post or whatever. Simple click on the link of the poster, or someone who commented and this will take you to more info and simply put on your detective hat and away you go.
If you need more info on X-raying see my blog post http://www.recruitingblogs.com/profiles/blogs/seeing-what-is-really...

Until next week, may the source be with you!
