SourceForge is a web-based service that offers software developers a centralized online location to control and manage free and open-source software projects. However most recruiters don’t think to source there becasue they are not sure how. Simply reach into your bag of tricks and pull out an old tried and true tool, a simple xray search with some extras, and a whole lot of website searching
So to source within SourceForge you simply need to use a skill known as xraying, like the one below.
site:sourceforge.net/p/*/mailman/java
If you run the strings above in google you will get the results below.
Now of course this is generic so simply add what you are searching for to the string.
Now once you open up a the url you will see mailing lists, and a lot of information simply play around with the different tabs and follow the breadcrumbs using your detective skills you have learned from my blogs and videos and away you go.
If you need more info on X-raying see my blog post http://www.recruitingblogs.com/profiles/blogs/seeing-what-is-really...
See my YouTube video on x-raying
Until next week, may the source be with you!
