How to source on the lesser known sites!! VisualCV!!
This is going to be a multiple part series about some of the lesser known social sites out there and how to source within them. The funny part will be by the time we are done you will notice one thing they all have in common, with regards to sourcing with them. An old school technique that still gets the job done, done right and done for free.
So on to the first site. The first site we will discuss is VisualCV. As the name implies, VisuaCV creates a more visual version of your resume or profile. It is quick and easy. However for us sourcers the real key is the fact you can source out of it, but not from within VIsualCV, but by using an old school technique called x-raying.
So to source within VisualCV you simply need to create an x-ray string, like the one below, which will find developers on VisualCV.
domain:visualcv.com developer
If you run the above in google you will get the results below.

@Dean: VisualCV is no longer supported as it was purchased by Talent Technology in 2012 for about $1 a registered user and promptly abandoned. So if you can hack your way in there, then you deserve some mad sourcing props.
Yes I was aware they were bought but a you can see form the results you can still x-ray in and find people
