Meet the People Behind the Business and learn the stories of the amazing individuals behind HTL. This week we’ve been speaking with Gemma McIver, from HTL Group Scotland.

Gemma joined HTL back in August 2020, and in her short time at HTL, she has made a huge impression within the business. Her passion for world-class customer service has seen Gemma work her way up through the ranks to her current Customer Service Supervisor role.

Let’s hear more from Gemma below.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy interacting and looking after our clients – I get a great deal of job satisfaction from organising a last-minute job for a client and receiving good feedback for helping them out of a tight spot.

What makes you smile during the day?

My work colleagues, we have a good team at HTL. Some very clever people, different characters with strengths in all different areas. We can get the job done and have a laugh at the same time!

What advice would you give someone wanting to follow your career path?

Be prepared for the fast-paced work environment, the energy industry is demanding. I like to be methodical and well organised. Set yourself goals with time scales to achieve them, and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone.

How has your HTL Career developed so far?

So far so good, HTL /Enerpac has a great development program. My manager asked me where I wanted to be and our HR department outlined my progression plan and support to get there.
