This is part 2 in my Fall Sourcecon roundup, highlighting the presentations at Sourcecon Oct 2015.
The 2nd Keynote was Chris Westfall’s “Get to the Point, Secrets of the New Elevator Pitch.”
As you can imagine he is trying to help us create and use better candidate messaging. Some of the element she recommends using are: being unexpected, surprising, innovative, and counter intuitive. In others words try something different, however also keep it simple.
Now he does state you need to focus your message do not be all over the place. Remember you only have 8 seconds to grab someone attention, if by the first 8 seconds of listening or reading you have not they are gone.
IN addition he goes on to explain that you must have a specific call to action. Meaning lets talk, or connect or whatever, and of course provide them the means to do this, meaning your contact info
