In part 5 of my Sourcecon posts we will discuss the things that came from the Programing track and general sessions.

So Steven Jiang of Hiretual spoke about creating a chrome extension, He gave an easy overview of a chrome ext. Then He spoke about HTML, CSS, and JS. Next up is Getting Started in Custom Programming for Sourcing Purposes by Glenn Gutmacher and Kameron Swinton. They talk about PyCharm the Python code editor. They mention Atom and Sublime other code editors. They talk about what language you should learn; HTML&CSS, Javascript, VBA, Python, Java, Swift, PHP, C# or Ruby. They went over the fundamental Programming concepts such as; Variable, Syntax, Data Structures etc. They broke down a little bit about each tool and how to create lite tools like a scraper, here is a link to a youtube video about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DJQy8VKmMU.

 

Next Sourcing with Python by Tom Ordonez. This was pretty much about Python. He talks about creating a CSV field from a twitter list. They talked about using Virtual Box to utilize Linux and then a lot of intro to different languages and such.

 

Building Software Products by Donato Diorio. This presentation was about the building cycle starting with You have the skills, to The problem, to The business logic, to building the App, to diving into and using the APP.

 

Lastly was Getting started with Automation by Morgan Allen. This was all about automating the repetitive tasks that happen in our day to day activity.
