Some slightly different methods of keeping up office moral

If you’re a manger of an office team or you own your own company and you have many members of staff working for you, it can’t be under estimated just how important it is to keep up moral around the workplace. Obviously, one of the main reasons that everyone chooses to work is for monetary reasons so making sure that everyone is paid on-time and the correct amount is the first step towards good moral. However, after a while, workers can lose their good moral and this can affect the company’s productivity. So what other ways are there to keep moral high in the workplace? We spoke to various companies with workforces of over 30 people and these are some of the points that were specifically mentioned.

A Good Old Office Party

This isn’t just reserved for Christmas and work parties around that time of year. Why not set quarterly or half year goals and if they are met, throw them a party as a reward! You don’t just have to have music and cheap food either. How about doing something different from all the others. Hiring entertainment from people like classique promotions and others alike gives you the option to have comedians, circus acts and celebrity speakers to appear and wow your employees. Just remember to take lots of pictures to remember the occasion!

Worker of the Month

This is a popular method and is used across the world to help motivate a workforce. Have a prize at the end of the month to the worker that has been the most productive, met the most goals or completed something impressive. It could even be something as simple as doing something above and beyond the call of duty. If worker of the month is too long, you could make it worker of the week but have the prize smaller. Maybe a voucher or meal at a restaurant could be the reward for the prized worker?

Group Goals

The worker of the month/week award is great for recognizing individual performance, but how about rewarding the entire workforce as a team? Set goals and targets for your staff and if they are met by the end of the month, give them a collective reward! Some companies choose to give the workforce a half-day on the last Friday of the month if the goal is met. Others choose to do different things but either way, the aim is to recognize the good work your workforce has put in.

These are three good ideas that can add a smile to your workers and increase their moral ten fold. Just remember to keep the workplace a fun and enjoyable environment whilst keeping productivity as high as possible.
