This is How You Recruit the Best Real Estate Agents

As the American housing market continues to improve, real estate brokerages are trying to attract top real estate talent to handle business in 2017, a year that many housing analysts are predicting will be the best of the last 10 years.

Excellent realtors hold the keys to real estate success. Even with increased technology and business practices such as the "For Sale By Owner" (FSBO) trend, realtors continue to be the most successful at selling homes. As the current market stands, there really is no need for buyers or sellers to retain realtors; real estate transactions have become a perfect information game in the sense that all required tools are readily available to anyone who wishes to use them. The reality, however, is that Americans like using realtors and this preference is not likely to change.

If you own or manage a real estate brokerage, recruiting the best realtors in 2017 will guarantee that you will have a great year. Here are some ideas on how you can accomplish this:

Talent Recruiters

The real estate industry is explained by metrics, figures and statistics. Finding out the top producers and the best performers in this industry is relatively easy; sales figures are routinely reported and published by professional organizations. In fact, the industry often holds awards shows and gala events so that everyone else can see how successful some brokerages and realtors can be.

Realtor awards ceremonies and industry publications are closely followed by recruiters. If you own or manage a real estate brokerage, there is a good chance that you may have been contacted by a recruiter or headhunter who was trying to place a candidate. It is also likely that some of your top talent may have been approached by the same recruiter, who may have enticed them to leave your agency for greener pastures. You should not hang up on recruiters in 2017; you should actually get to know them and ask them to find you the best talent for your brokerage.

Email Marketing Campaigns

For all the talk about how social media and messaging apps are becoming the predominant means of modern communications, it is important to note that email continues to be the primary method of staying in touch among real estate professionals.

In recent years, smart owners of real estate brokerages have retained email marketing agencies to help them them create recruiting campaigns distributed via email. Research shows that the vast majority of professionals open and read email messages related to their careers; even if they are not actively looking for a job, they are curious about what the job market looks like at any given moment.

If you decide to use an email marketing campaign to recruit top realtors, be sure to research how your message should be crafted. For the most part, you want to start off with strong compensation figures followed by benefits, bonuses and career development opportunities.

Modern Business Networking

Getting back to the real estate awards ceremonies, gala events and social gatherings, you should not be surprised to learn that recruiters are often present at these events. This is something that you should be doing as well; naturally, you need to attend with recruiting goals in mind.

If live, in-person networking is not your thing, you can still try online channels such as LinkedIn, but you should actually go one step further in the social media ladder. Try to focus on specialty networks such as Active Rain and Quora and search for very active topics that relate to your business. For example, if you see a discussion centered around projects being developed by home builders in Utah, you should take note of the members engaged in that topic and review their profiles. If they are realtors in your market, you should make it a point to engage them.
