Veterans Day, is a day to say thanks to all those who served, so we could be free. During this time I would ask everyone to go that extra mile to help a Veterans find employment. While Veteran unemployment is down, it is still way to high. So I would ask we go the extra mile, I would ask you to do “MORE”. I know some might think we do not have to do anything, that we as a country are so pro Veteran that there is little to do. To that I offer a story that is sadly true. Recently I spoke to a group of Veterans in the Seattle area. One of them stood up and told me a story of what happened to him when he went to interview at a certain well known company. He was told he would be meeting with several people, in the end he met with one, the hiring manager who basically told him he was there so they could check a box.  That they had no intention of hiring him or any “war mongering” Veteran. The sad part was at least 10 others told similar stories. So while I agree we have come a long way with regards to Veteran hiring and the way we treat them, we still have a long way to go. Hence my challenge to do “MORE!! Below is a link to my Veterans page on my website which is full of tools for helping Veterans, helping to find Veterans and much much more. Please go there, and use any and everything you can to help a Veteran. If you need any help, advice or anything please reach out to me.
