Veterans Day 2016 a special and weird day!!
Veterans day 2016 a day that is very special as is all Veterans days. Veterans day is a day where we do honor to those who have fought for the freedoms we all enjoy.
This Veterans day carries a very weird addition to it, as it follows the 2016 Presidential Election. An election that will forever be known as the election of settling. An election where neither candidate was really any good. It also though is an election of change as we elected a person who has no experience in politics.
Now I am not going to get into who I voted for or anything like that as it is not the point. The point is only in America could what just happen have happened, and whether you think it was good or bad you need to remember that it was Veterans who fought for our freedoms that allowed the freedom for this to happen.
Now I have read and seen protests and demonstrations about the outcome of this election. While I believe that was going to happen no matter who won, the reality is once again it is the Veterans who fought for our freedoms that gave us the freedom to protest.
We are a nation divided and on this Veterans Day 2016, I call for all of you to put all of this aside and unite our nation even if it is for 1 day. Show all the Veterans how much we appreciate the freedoms that they fought so hard for.
