Today we are discussing trait #9 Problem Solving, to make you more employable in 2010.

Problem solving is a skill that enables you to tackle issues in a rational and systematic way. It is a strategic-thinking process that involves attention to detail, setting goals, evaluating alternatives and finding suitable courses of action to resolve issues.
Improving individual’s and group’s abilities to “solve problems” and make decisions is recognised as an important skill in every profession and indeed all fields of life.

As a professional, you might want to handle your team more effectively, get promotions, buy a home or improve your communication skills. It is almost certain that, while working towards your goals, you will come across some barriers. At that point, you can engage in any number of problem solving processes to help you achieve your goal. Every time you use a problem solving process you are increasing your problem solving skills.
