LinkedIn is always good for a survey on the latest recruiting and HR trends! Recently they polled 800 professionals and over 13,000 talent acquisition leaders to gauge the importance of mobile recruiting today.
I wasn’t surprised to see just how high the numbers are reflecting candidates’ mobile job seeking practices, but I was surprised at how few companies are catching on to the mobile trend.
With 72% of active candidates using their smart devices to view the company site and only 20% of companies reporting having a mobile site, we see a huge disconnect here.
Ultimately this survey leads to LinkedIn inviting companies to reflect on their mobile strategy. Do you have one? The numbers don’t lie; job seekers want a mobile experience now. They love the convenience, the ability to search and apply at their own leisure and saving time with efficient processes.
Why not offer that at the screening and interviewing steps of the process as well? With video interviewing candidates can have all of those conveniences even through a mobile device. Candidates can interview whenever and wherever they wish; all they need is the internet.
