High volume hiring requires a smart process for smart recruiters:
1. My process conforms to the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures
2. Hiring specifications are created using a multi-method job analysis involving hiring managers and job-relevant SMEs
3. Success criteria are based upon performance modeling and time to proficiency metrics
3. The Virtual Job Tryout® delivers an engaging, Web 2.0 grounded objective candidate evaluation supported with a client specific validity analysis
4. Competency based interviews are bolstered with behaviorally anchored rating scales
5. The resume is not looked at until the interview, when it is used as the context for identifying and isolating evidence of performance in past experiences

I approach staffing as a process with a yield to manage. I work to document that the process is under control and achieves predictable outcomes, with minimal waste and reduced variation. Through the use of closed-loop analytics, return on investment is calculated and reported. Not just smart, business smart.

Joe nice format on your post- identical to mine, of course ;-)

Hope 2009 is great for you- and that our paths cross again one of these days. I remember that first class flight out west where you taught me a ton about volume hiring....
