Candidates who have once been laid off (especially recent lay offs) are hungry, appreciative and understand that "It Can Happen To Me". They become loyal!

In my experience, these employees understand that a business will make hard decisions and the employee's who are the most productive, job focused and drama free have a better chance of keeping their jobs than others.

With that said, conduct all of your due diligence during the hiring phase. Let's face it - many employees will use a lay off (big or small) to get rid of problem employee's, employee's whose wages exceed their ROI and employee's who simply are difficult to work with. Make sure you are not hiring one of "them".

Once you have crossed your T's and dotted your I's - you will not be dissapointed!
