Is the IT Recruiting Industry dead yet?

Don't be alarmed ... What better way to write my first blog on this site than to start with a Bang! I ask the question not from the perspective of a Professional working in the industry but from the New IT Venture perspective.

With powerful Social media tools liked LinkedIn, Twitter, and tons more how
long would it take me to plug into a Network of IT Project Managers, J2EE
Developers QA Specialists Release Managers, Mobile App Developers assuming I am building an app for some niche market.

I hire a Technical Recruiter pay him or her $40k plug them in to my network. Can you see where I am going with this ... As the CEO of this company do I really need to hire an IT Recruiting Company and pay them 30% ,25% 20% or 10k flat fees per hire.... Hmmm.

Also, in an 8% - 10 +% Unemployment Rate Economy depending on whether you live in Canada as I do or south of the border, the Supply equation looks healthy ...

I add the “Yet” in the title of the blog because I believe Corporations have not fully caught on to the tools that exist and how they can be fully exploited- yes I
could elaborate in another blog topic as to why we (The IT Recruiter) are still needed.

Ask yourselves if you were the CEO of the new venture; would your on boarding strategy include working with an IT Recruiting Company?
