Does anyone have a sure fire "Search String" to use on Google or Yahoo or Live to find Company contacts or Directories?

Are you looking for contact names, phone numbers, and/or email addresses?
I was gonna post the same thing.
I would be looking for Contact numbers, email addresses, contact names and number of employees if possible.
Norman, I would like some guidance from you.
Is there any software or any tool online, which can extract all these info?
I have not discovered a single search string that will produce names, numbers and email addresses in a single result. Nor have I found a way to extract company directories using the Internet. What I have found are different techniques to locate certain directory information such as email addresses, phone numbers, names. Let's use email addresses as an example. 1) Guess the address - This site has a great primer on how to find the email address for those with corporate accounts: http://www.webfoot.com/advice/FindingEmailAddresses.html. 2) Try directories- This site gives a fairly good list of sites to search: http://guide.darwinmag.com/reference/lookup/email/ and this site lets you search several email directories and reverse directories from one page:

There are companies that offer this type of service but they can be expensive. You might want to try American Business Directories 1-888/260-7938. They have a similar database you can purchase on CD for $1000 or use on their website in smaller increments. I don't have their web site but the above should be enough info to search it out.

Additional comment: You could search your ATS for candidates from your targeted companies. Contact the candidate to obtain a couple of company email addresses and send those employees an email during the holiday. Hopefully they will set their out of office reply and include their phone number or the name and number of another person who is acting as a back up in their out of office reply. If you generate enough names and network it's only a matter of time before you have "infiltrated" the company.
What are your target companies? Big? Small? Do you want the complete list of employees, ideally, or just specific contacts there? For how many companies are you looking to get directories?

There is a discussion at http://www.linkedin.com/e/gis/1176637 exactly on the topic of search strings for directories and a discussion here at http://www.recruitingblogs.com/group/booleanstrings about finding email addresses. Please join and take a look!

I also posted this "hack" to find employees of a given company on LinkedIn and create a list of their emails some time ago. "How to create a target email list of candidates in no time and for free" (posted on ERE) http://tinyurl.com/6a33rw

I am searching for medium to big companies,I'd want employees, phone number and/or emails if possible. I did use one of Shally Steckerl's hacks and found some association members list using - ASSOCIATIONNAME (DIRECTORY | CONTACT | LIST) (INURL:MEMBER | INTITLE:MEMBER)

Thanks everyone,

Norm
Hi Norm

I can only pull off Directories via phone however you can search Google for Name/Titles/Email using this simple yet effective boolean search string.

filetype:xls attendees contact @ member (target title)

Note results vary according to industry. I was able to pull off hundreds of names with emails and sometimes direct lines. Hope this helps. You can always call me and help you fine tune your search results.

Another suggestion. If you are not familiar with Jigsaw, try it here. (I get 125 "points" if you join):

http://www.jigsaw.com/join/freetrial

You can search contacts by company name, location, level, keywords etc.
You get all the fields you're looking for: name, title, email, phone, and address. It's not guaranteed that this data is correct but if you are looking for large lists you will certainly find some good data.

The membership is free if you add a number of contacts monthly. They will only charge you if you select a paid membership option.
I've been a member for a few years now.

The company data is free on Jigsaw.

Kay- This is really cool. It's going to take sometime to maximize it's potential. Nice find!
