Firm is a Geotechnical Engineering firm with strong business in California especially in Land Development.

Office Location: Sonora, California as primary office.

Company seeks an experienced Tunnel Engineer to work out of their Sonora office on engineering projects. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to some or all of the following: field data collection, data analyses, design and stability calculations, final design, and construction observations for civil and geotechnical engineering projects associated with tunnels, caves, associated structures, retaining walls, earthwork, and slope stabilization. Projects also may include water retention and conveyance structures, rehabilitation and construction, construction management, etc. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with owners and contactors.

A Masters Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is required, but a Bachelors Degree with equivalent experience will be considered. A Civil Engineering Registration (California) is desired, or ability to obtain within one year, with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Structural design experience would be a plus. Previous geotechnical work experience should include construction in soft ground as well as hard rock.
