You are inventory.
Any questions?

In 1998. I was contracting for Tandem (as it was being "borged" by Compaq, before Compaq was "borged" by HP)  in SIlicon Valley. Anyway, we had lots of big job fairs then- hundreds of companies, thousands of applicants, swag "off the hook", etc. One of these was right when the movie "Men in Black" came out. The movie had this.

I wanted our recruiting team to have  black t-shirts that said:

RECRUITERS IN BLACK

"Protecting Tandem

from the Scum

of the Valley".

They didn't go for that idea.

Also while I was there, I thought we should give out as job-fair swag a "certain product" reflecting the joined Tandem/Compaq organization. On this "certain product" would be the name  "Condem". You can guess what that "*certain product" would have been. They didn't go for that one, either... Hard as it may be to believe, they kept me contracting there for 10 months.

* it would have been doubly appropriate considering what many of us Tandemers thought about what Compaq was doing to the Tandem corporate culture.

Oh these are good....very good.  I like the third one Sandra...hilarious

The words:

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Keep movin', movin', movin',
Though they're disapprovin',
Keep them doggies movin' RECRUITERHIDE!
Don't try to understand 'em,
Just rope and throw and grab 'em,
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
