Step Up Your Customer Service to Survive Today’s Economy

Customer service is vital to any business. Having capable, competent people working with your candidates and clients to solve their problems creates a bond that humanizes your company, engenders trust, and generates good word-of-mouth. This is especially important in the modern world of easy sharing and instantaneous communication online and through social media.

But what impact does out-of-the-box customer service look like? When British supermarket chain Sainsbury’s received…

How do I protect my staffing company in this economy?

With the current state of the economy, most companies are in survival mode. Where can business owners cut costs and not affect the survival of their company? Should we outsource some functions of our business so that we can concentrate on our core competencies? Should we diversify our business and/or identify additional revenue streams in order to bring additional funds into the company? Will my funding source stick with us during these trying times? Should I look to sell my company, or can I… Continue

10 Tips for Starting a Succesful Temporary Staffing Company

So you’ve decided to start up a temporary/contract staffing company, and you would like to know what’s involved in ensuring success in your new venture. To follow are 10 tips for making your new venture a success.

1. Define Your Market - Most entrepreneurs that start a staffing company come from within the industry. Some have worked for other agencies as a branch or regional manager, recruiter, or sales professional. Others have owned a staffing company, sold their company, then… Continue

Are you passing up Staffing business?

It’s no secret - the economy is currently in the tank. Businesses are laying off workers, bankruptcy is at an all-time high, the housing market is terrible, and companies are cutting expenses to survive. To say the least, the forecast for success, for the most part, is bleak for the foreseeable future. However, there are some areas that are seeing some slight growth, or growth potential, to include the healthcare and information technology staffing sectors. My question is, if you are… Continue

What is Factoring?

In my normal course of daily activities, I talk to a lot of entrepreneurs and business owners. We discuss everything from how they may have gotten started in their particular line of business, current production and sales activities for their company, business processes, the state of the economy, and the general outlook and prospects for future success of their enterprise. Eventually, the conversation always turns to finances, and ultimately, cash flow. Invariably, my prospects will ask the… Continue

I am the “Admin” for the Recruiters On LinkedIn group, www.recruitingblogs.com/group/linkedin. You have recently joined and this is a "welcome" to the group and "here is how it works".

Over the past year I have been experimenting how best to facilitate members being able to connect with each other. Some want to connect with everyone and some are looking for a few meaningful connections.

1-2 times per week I send a group introduction message with 10-15 new members and reintroducing others.

What this means for you is simple, do you wish to be introduced to the group?

You have 4 options from which to choose:

(A) “Open Networker” with name, email address, and LinkedIn URL as you want to connect with anyone and everyone.

(B) “General Introduction” with name and LinkedIn URL as you are specific about who you want to connect with.

(C) “Lurker” no announcement will be made as you want to be on the sidelines connecting with people as you wish.

(D) “Super Open Networker” which is (A) plus having your contact information on the group page.

A caution on the “Open Networker”, you may be inundated with invitations to connect. For some this is exactly what they are hoping for and others this could be a pain.

I do ask, if you receive invitations from members you do not want to connect with that you “Archive” the message versus “I don’t know” so the sender is not penalized by LinkedIn although how you handle this is up to you.

Again your options are (A), (B), (C), (D).

Please include your LinkedIn URL and email address you prefer to receive invitations and send to paul@mnheadhunter.com

Thank you for your time.
