Here is a question again now: Does Video work for recruitment?

Compare it with your other social media publications. Perhaps with a blog. If you would write a blog post, and about 40 people open that page (I am not saying read it!) in about 3 months. Would you call that a success? No. You need to have hundreds of people on your blog post within first 24 hours. You need to get comments rolling in and you busy administering them.

Rules are the same for the video. It is all about the numbers. The ratio of time / budget spent and the conversions the video has created. Will the average 50ish viewers make a ‘conversion’ – someone to call and make a ‘purchase’?

My point is – Video does not work in generating the leads. A few a year in each industry and market do. Only! The rest does nothing or almost nothing. Text is how the web is searched.

A blog post is worth a million videos!

The title "does video work in recruitment?" is misleading. It should read "can video compete with blogging?" The 17 videos referenced are primarily centered on the job of recruiting, not actually using video to recruit candidates.

I use video instead of the phone interview. It's very effective, A twist on the"normal interview" , be it phone or face to face,  is that I send the candidates the question in advance. This might seem counter intuitive but it works, you'd be surprised at the results. So , yes video does work but like all new technologies we have to think about the problem we are trying to solve, better candidates , lower cost, faster process,  differently and not just replicate what we do today.

Our Youtube Channel has had just under 30k views since we started it (We would not do it if it did not make us $$$)... Every video (if done correctly) has a subject line, text, and tags.  Google (Owns Youtube) LOVES video.. (Or they likely would not have bought Youtube)...  This Blog post is very revealing about your "core identity"... I am happy to help anyone should they need support.... HAPPY EASTER.....

@ Jason- good point.

I watch some recruitment videos and they are  amateurish.  I don't think that bodes well for the subject.  I think people who are going to do weekly vlogs should spend some time choosing background, color, lighting, etc.  And make sure their lips are moving pretty close to in synch with sound.  So they don't look like a Godzilla movie.
