There are dozens if not hundreds of
green job boards filling the spaces in the online recruitment landscape. Every blogger and his mother seems to have one attached to their site touting it as the place to post your
eco friendly postings. The problem is these green sites are not focused enough.
A ‘
green job’ is a relative term and many types of jobs can be green. So if you have a
job in wind power where do you post it to get the best quality candidate? Well I have the answers.
The wind power industry is in its early stages so there are only a handful of boards to use. Here’s a look at the only wind jobs sites that exist right now.
1.
Jobs in Wind Power: this site touts its search engine friendliness, low cost and the fact that all jobs get cross-posted to
SimplyHired at no extra cost. Job postings are just
$49 for 30 days. There is no resume database however, just job postings. Geographic location: U.S. only.
2.
Windjobs.org: this is probably the least user-friendly wind job board Ive seen, especially from an employer standpoint. There are no prices listed anywhere on the site. You actually have to login and register to find out how much it will cost you.
$99 for 30 days. They do have a resume search but don’t tell you how many candidates they have.Geographic location: Global.
3.
Careers in Wind: This is another
$99 for 30 days site. Its run by the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) so its pretty reputable. But once you get into job packages it can get pricey. They have over 6,000 resumes in their database. Geographic location: North America.
4.
NAwindpower.com: this is a print publication that simply copies the print ads and puts them online. Prices unknown.
So there you go. With wind farms popping up all across the landscape,
wind jobs are on the rise. Now you know where to put them. Always post your jobs on a niche site that targets that industry.
