Having trouble filling solar jobs? Here’s a look at where to post them.
There are dozens if not hundreds of so-called green job boards popping up online these days. Every blogger and his mother seems to have one attached to their site touting it as the place to post your “eco friendly” postings. The problem is these green sites are not targeted enough.
A ‘green job’ is a relative term and many types of jobs can be green. So if you have a
job in solar power where do you post it to get the best quality candidate? Well, I recently did some research on the various solar job sites.
With the solar power industry in its nascent stage, there are just a handful of sites to try.
1.
Jobs in Solar Power: this site touts its search engine friendliness, low cost and the fact that all jobs get cross-posted to SimplyHired at no extra cost. Job postings are just $49 for 30 days. There is no resume database however, just job postings. Geographic location: U.S. only.
2.
Solarjobs.com: as the most expensive solar job board this site is based in the UK. They do have a resume search but all prices are listed in Euros. That’s not very ‘US friendly’. Geographic location: Global.
3.
Solarjobs.us: It appears this site has the same owner as Winfjobs.org, Its not a very user friendly site for employers because they do not list prices and make you register first to see their rates. We checked it out and rates are $99 for 30 days. Geographic location: U.S. only.
4.
Solarjobsusa.com: $149 for 30 days, this site is owned by a staffing firm that helps you fill positions.
So there you go. As the government and other entities promote the use of solar power, finding ways to fill
solar jobs will be a little bit easier.
